Tonight's special guest is Michael Broussard from Philadelphia, a child abuse survivor with a unique way to be of service and carry the message. NAASCA has committed to presenting his play, a one-man show "Ask a Sex Abuse Survivor," to a wider and ever-expanding audience through our web site and on our talk shows. The next presentation will be on Sunday, November 9 at 5:00pm at The Adrienne Theatre in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Michael says to his friends in the Philadelphia area, "My interactive stage show about childhood sexual abuse is happening again on Nov 9th. I tell my story of survival and healing and I invite audience members to comment, ask questions and tell their own stories during feedback breaks throughout the performance. The show has been praised by mental health professionals and survivors." During the play, which was first performed at the end of June, 2014, Michael told the story of a childhood lost to abuse — and rediscovered decades later. Throughout the performance, audience members were encouraged to share their own experiences, ask questions and offer up comments. The play provides a unique opportunity for an open, interactive dialogue on the effects and causes of abuse and, as such, NAASCA will be devoted to helping the play be presented elsewhere. We'll sponsor these events and list them on the NAASCA web site when they are scheduled, etc, too, as an ongoing project / service. We're delighted to count Michael among our NAASCA family members.
