Tonight's special guest is Rachel Grant, MA, from San Francisco, a Trauma Recovery Coach, a returning NAASCA family member who was abused as a child by her grandfather in Oklahoma. Rachel Grant is a Sexual Abuse Recovery coach with an M.A. in Counseling Psychology. Rachel provides a compassionate and challenging approach for her clients while using coaching as opposed to therapeutic models to help survivors of childhood sexual abuse let go of the pain of abuse and finally feel normal. As Ms Grant says, "What you think, you create!" Rachel brings to the table a passionate belief that her clients do not have to remain trapped or confronted daily by the thoughts or behaviors that result from abuse. Through her own journey of recovery from sexual abuse, she has also gained insight and understanding about what it takes to overcome abuse. This makes it possible for her to relate to and appreciate her clients' struggles intimately. Based on her desire to foster community, intimacy, and connection, Rachel has dedicated much of her time to understanding relationships and communication and how they are impacted by abuse. For her, how we are relating to others is crucial to improving the overall quality of our lives. Her program, Beyond Surviving, has been specifically designed to change the way we think about and heal from abuse. Rachel has an upcoming free 90 minute teleseminar, Understanding the 3 Stages of Recovery from Sexual Abuse, that's being offered at 9pm EST (so 6pm PAC) on April 23rd. Participants will learn: 1) How to identify which stage of recovery you are in, 2) What the goals of recovery are for each stage and 3) The types of support to seek out at each stage. There will also be an opportunity for Q&A.
