Tonight's special guests are Lynn Tolson and Carol D Levine, both dedicated volunteers to the NAASCA family, both survivors in long-term recovery who are healing from severe child abuse and later adult trauma .. and both authors of autobiographically based books. Ms Tolson's book is "Beyond the Tears: A True Survivor's Story" and Ms Levine's is "Panic Child: A Harrowing True story of Sexual Abuse and Neglect." Each is available at Amazon. On tonight's show, we'll be comparing the two works. Lynn explains her book was written during therapy to overcome abuse and adversity. She says, "My story illustrates physical, emotional, and spiritual transformation." She goes on, "The mission is to comfort victims by sharing my story, confront violence by breaking the silence, change society via information and action." Carol's childhood was filled with abuse and neglect. But even after the toll it took on her in her adult years, Carol found the courage to keep going, to heal and to be a voice for change. Ms. Levine now uses her knowledge and experience to help many youth and survivors of abuse in her local area, encouraging survivors to report their assaults and to get medical and therapeutic attention. Both Ms Tolson and Ms Levine are dedicated members of the NAASCC family, spreading their message of recovery and speaking out against the horrible epidemic of child abuse.
