Tonight's special guest is JL Mealer from Arizona. He's a developer, engineer, automobile designer, manufacturer and patent holder .. and he's running for office this year as Arizona's next Governor. He's joining us to specifically discuss his passion to deal with several issues close to the NAASCA mission. Mealer wants to take Child Protective Services (currently a Federal Agency) and put it under extremely tight reigns by creating a publicly owned agency in Arizona. During the first week of service, John would demand the exact location of the Federal CPS “homes” (actually prisons). The children would be freed to a safe haven or kept there, but the doors opened so they can come and go as they desire. John also wants to crack down on Human Trafficking which sadly includes many children who at one stage either ran away from an abusive home or were lured into the world of prostitution. He's proposing the crimes for prostitution will be rewritten to consider many of the prostitutes as victims, and the “jons” and pimps as human traffickers and kidnappers. John wants Arizona to build centers that would accommodate trafficking victims, complete with shopping, schooling, job skill training and security with housing for their victims, ensuring that the lure of returning to a life as a victim of traffickers is taken away. Mealer believes that the victims can be self-sufficient, valuable members of the community. He proposes turning currently closed or abandoned buildings, large apartment houses and shopping centers into interim centers, reimbursing owners for use of their property.
