Tonight's special guest is Barbara Ochoa from San Francisco, a returning NAASCA family member who has been with us several times. That's because Barbara (aka Petra Luna) has a special mission, one which we share with her here at NAASCA. Each year for the past three years, Barbara has produced a series of events celebrating what's known as Male Abuse Awareness Week (first week of December). Recognizing that young males have an especially tough time even talking about being abused as kids, Barbara reaches out to this frequently undeserved group with videos, music events, dance and special guest appearances (Help4Guys.org). NAASCA founder Bill Murray has spoken at the gatherings in San Diego and Los Angeles the past two years, and is once again scheduled to be the main speaker at this year's public, open-air event in San Francisco's beautiful Union Square - Sat, Dec 7 from 12noon to 2pm. Petra Luna is a public figure who is a professional musician by trade but much more to her beloved fans and followers. Even at her young age, she has become one of the matriarchs  and most recognizable faces of her cause, to fight child abuse. She's an exemplary survivor of all forms of abuse and inspires thousands of people to unite in the fight against child abuse. She also encourages victims of abuse to seek help, justice and recovery through her music and nonprofit organization she calls the P.Luna Foundation. She currently commands an Internet network of awareness web sites that has gained over 100,000 followers and receives over 1,000,000 hits per year.
