Tonight's special guest is Yvonne Rousseau from Idaho, here to discuss her work with "Beyond Myself Recovery," a program including an educational book, a music CD and an Interactive Workbook designed for anyone who has been affected by a sexual violation. Ms. Rousseau has delved deeply into the issue of sexual violations for over twenty years, including her own trauma. She has presented the information she found to many individuals and groups, both publicly and privately. Yvonne has been a conference presenter for the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) for their SPICE Conferences, as well as vigils, community outreach programs, churches, prisons, and agencies involved in both the legal and healing aspect of sexual abuse. Yvonne’s intention is to continue to present her own innovative restorative process to victims who seek healing, therapists, coaches, support groups, caring individuals, law enforcement and judicial officials, schools, churches, and society in general. Her presentations include more than just statistics and the latest healing jargon; what Yvonne provides is a logical process to recover from an illogical crime. Her "Beyond Myself Recovery" technique, including the use of music written and performed by Yvonne, makes the healing victim and the recovery process feel safe and understood. Along with other experiential exercises, the songs are included within the Interactive Workbook as a means of addressing the aftermath of sexual violations in an unintrusive manner. Yvonne provides customized presentations that meet you an organization’s needs and budget.
