Tonight's special guest is EL Farris from Virginia, a now-thriving survivor of child sexual abuse and best selling author who strives to help other women find healing from the effects of PTSD. Ms Farris is an ex-lawyer, a married mother of three, a writing coach and an advocate for abused women and children. Her first novel is Ripple, available on Amazon. In Ripple, a team of women at a shelter for abused women, lawyers and therapists, help a 15-year old girl heal after she is raped by her father. EL writes, "Many readers have commented that although the plot is in places heartbreaking, the topic is handled with extreme 'grace and care' for the readers. 'In each instance where I was affected or triggered,' writes one sexual abuse survivor, 'immediately following, in the next sentence or paragraph, were the perfect words or scene to bring everything I was feeling to a safe place.' Although Ripple is a work of fiction, it also has therapeutic value. As a recent reviewer explains: From a therapeutic standpoint, Ripple is not only a means of helping support systems to understand what goes on inside of those who are abused but it validates these thoughts and feelings for the victims." Another note said: "I think Ripple was an amazing book. It's definitely a story of hope and healing. My counselor recommended it to me and I am very glad she did. I recommend it to anyone who is in need of healing." Please contact EL at: www.elfarris.com
