Tonight's special guest is Florentina (Tina) Rusanovschi from New Jersey, a survivor of severe abuse who's also the frustrated mother of a sexually abused child, a 13 year old son who is back living in the custody of her pedophile ex-husband. Born in Romania, Tina came to the US with her family at 7 years old. As children living in a 3rd world country, she and her sister were exposed to a lot of poverty, and had to stand in line for food which was rationed for each family. One of her mother's boyfriends raped her at the age of 4 in a public bathroom. Kidnapped out of a bread line, she awoke to find herself on the street partially dressed. Immigrating to the United States didn't help much. Tina's mother went into a deep depression. Homesick, she failed to learn the English language. She started to drink, beat her kids, and have boyfriends. Eventually she found odd jobs, often with an employer / boyfriend who "really loved little girls." The two sisters were raped at every opportunity, but eventually were able to report and prosecute one of their abusers. At 13 Tina and her sister went into foster care, where one of their friends had parents who were police officers. Healing began. Until this day Tina and her sister have absolutely no relationship with either parent. Now residing in New Jersey, Tina's also here to talk about the legal struggle she's having with her ex-husband who has been keeping her 13 year old son from her. It's well documented that the boy has suffered sexual abuse caused by his dad for many years, at least since he was 5 years old. Tina blames a lot of the problem on "the system" but is determined to get her son back to safety.
