Tonight's special guest is Ica Iova from Vancouver, Canada, a freelance journalist with the Examiner.com. She frequently writes about social and family issues. A few years ago, when her daughter was experiencing a particularly nasty divorce, Ms Iova became interested in understanding Hostile-Aggressive Parenting (HAP), a multitude of damaging behaviors exhibited by parents who are involved in separation and divorce.  Its mostly used as a court strategy, by parents litigating for custody. She's the published author of 2 books on the subject, “My Children His Victims,” a novel about a woman who discovers her husband's not who she thought he was, and “Your Children First,” a guide to friendly parenting with an unfriendly parent. Her third book, about to be released, "Living Apart but Still a Family," is about functional and dysfunctional parenting in two households and offers perspective and advice from her stand-point as a grandmother who helped the family navigate through the difficulties of a bitter divorce. Ica Iova is also the founder of the Broken Home Society, an organization founded in October of 2012 that specializing in working with high conflict divorce and domestic violence families and on parenting issues. The foundation of the society is “Children First Program” – a 3 branch program containing educational programs, counseling services, and open group programs for parents and children. Most of their services will be rendered free of charge.
