Tonight's special guest is Bruce Montville from New Hampshire. An extremely dedicated volunteer, he's the Founder, President and CEO of LifeWise Community. LifeWise was launched in 1992 on the premise that effective volunteer placements can extend the ability of a nonprofit to provide increased capacity to its customers, while offering the volunteers a meaningful service experience to their community and themselves. In the last several years he has been running some HIGHLY successful mentoring and anti-bullying programs in NH, via the public schools and colleges. The Wildcat Youth Mentors pairs college students with young teens to serve as role models and helps promote healthy attitudes and scholastic success. The Water Guardians program teaches in middle school classrooms how to protect drinking water from contaminants. As it says on the web site, "Accelerated application of our collective social capital becomes an absolute if we are to achieve the unspoken agreement between our ever-evolving generations. Broad citizen participation in the freedoms that allow us to improve our social condition and civic integrity is required if we are to truly make our republic work.
