Tonight's surprise special guest was Randa Fox from Houston, Texas, founder of the Not On Our Watch group and foundation (web site: www.NotOnOurWarch.net). She believes we can make a difference through "Communication, Education and Proclamation." As she says, "We must start this journey, but first, please know it will not be easy. It will be emotionally exhausting. But it is up to our generation to begin this grassroots effort to allow our children to grow up being nurtured, loved and safe from all abuse." She continues saying that first, "we must open our minds to the possibility that sexual abuse does happen. It's happening everyday in every community. This is a fact." Secondly, begin talking about it within your family. The Sandusky case or any local cases you may see on TV about sexual abuse would be great opportunities to find out what your child thinks. Third, she says, "It's time to start educating ourselves. If you are reading this, you have begun the journey. Explore the facts about this very real epidemic. There is amazing work being done to make a difference for our children." Feel free to contact Randa Fox at: RandaJeane@yahoo.com
