Tonight's special guest is Stacy Pendarvis, MSW, MA, from Florida, an instructor for "Darkness to Light" and a specialist in child safety and abuse prevention. She holds two Masters degrees from East Carolina University, one in Social Work and one in Psychology and has over seventeen years experience in child and family services and child abuse prevention. Stacy is currently a consulting trainer and prevention specialist for the Monique Burr Foundation for Children, Inc. She conducts facilitator trainings and community awareness and education events, writes the Foundation's blog, Speak Up Be Safe Florida, and helps to implement Speak Up Be Safe™, the Foundation's bullying and child abuse prevention curriculum to all 1st through 5th grade elementary students in Florida. She has trained thousands of adults utilizing programs such as Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse, Internet Safety, and Darkness to Light's Stewards of Children. Stacy has helped many organizations and communities begin prevention initiatives, and has presented at numerous local, state and national conferences.
