An original member of the Crash Crew, Reggie Reg was born and
raised in Harlem, New York City. Growing up, Reggie Reg’s
early music influences were 70’s R&B and Funk groups like Earth,
Wind & Fire, The Jacksons, BT Express, Lakeside, The Isley
Brothers, and the BarKays, just to name a few. Reggie Reg got his
inspiration to emcee from early Hip Hop groups like Grand Master
Flash and the Furious Five, and the Funky Four.

At 16 years old, Reggie Reg joined Mike & Dave Productions, helping to promote neighborhood parties, deejaying and emceeing. And like most Hip Hop Pioneers at the time, Reggie Reg had no idea that his contribution to this new culture would soon turn the world upside down.

Reggie Reg was instrumental in coming up with the name of his group after realizing they were constantly using the sound effect of a car crashing in the mix tapes that the Crash Crew sold. He was also the brainchild behind the hit songs, “Breaking Bells,” “On the Radio,” and “We are Known as Emcees.” Today, Reggie Reg is the President of Tru Skool Reps Entertainment, an entertainment company that promotes and provides venues for up and coming artists.

Reggie Reg has also worked with On Track Productions running the New York City wide Safe Night Party Series. Reggie Reg is a relevant pioneer to the HIP HOP culture and also works promoting parties and events with The Preservation of Hip Hop Culture, TeamFearless, OldSkool Reunions, Distinguished Gentlemen, Change the Game Ent. and Team Hollywood.
