    Mz Optimizm Speaks to K-Born, a Hip Hop Pioneer

    K-Born was born in Manhattan but he was raised in the Bronx where he resides at this day. He got his first experience with Hip Hop around 1972. After playing around with the mic for so many years, K-Born decided to start taking it serious and writing rhymes. In 1985 he tried out for a contest in The World Famous Disco Fever Nite club. Not only did I come in first place I also met D.J Starchild who D.J'ed for him and his career took off. A few months later he joined forces his childhood partner who also became an M.C. By that time we formed the group "The Classical 2" Later they met D.J. Brucie B who loved their music and style so much they were on to "The Rooftop Skating Ring" After hearing the Classical 2 rap, the owner of the label, Robert Gusto Wells made a quick call and within 10 minutes Teddy Riley and he fell in love with our style-3 days later, they were in the studio.Their first and biggest hit to date was "Raps New Generation", with was produced by Teddy Riley. After a huge success, K-Born become a writer for Hip Hop Magazines. K-Born is known for "Tha Iconz" articles which consist of interviews that lets everyone know and understand who the forefathers are." K-Born has written articles on Kurtis Blow,Cold Crush Bros,D.J. Theodore,King T,Ice T,Busy B,The Crash Crew,M.C. Frost,D.J. A.J.,The Fearless 4,Just-Ice,Charlie Ahearn and many many more.K-Born states" Its really important that people know and understand who started this because you have rappers that made millions off the game and they don't know who The Sugarhill Gang or Kool Herk is and thats a shame.     The Legendary DJ Kool Mz OptimiZm is thrilled to interview the Legendary DJ Kool, Friday Nov 6th, 2009 on Blogtalk Radio! DJ KOOL has been a dominant force on the club scene for close to 30 years. His natural gift of predicting hit records has helped catapult him to the top of the party rockin' game. Kool began DJin' in the Washington DC area clubs and it was his unique style of playing records while hypin' the crowd on the mic (with call and response chants) that gained Kool respect and commercial attention. He was then invited to DJ on DC's radio station, WPGC 95.5. Nowadays, Kool spins and performs in clubs in Germany, France, Italy, Japan and several other foreign countries. He's also had tremendous success commanding the microphone on records like the hot club bangers, "20 Minute Workout" and the platinum selling single "Let Me Clear My Throat". His collaboration with Def Jam recording artist Redman on "Let's Get Dirty" (certified gold) was a club smash and still receives spins regularly. The "Let Me Clear My Throat" video, featuring hip hop legends Dougie Fresh & Biz Markie, was one of the most popular videos of the year.     The year is now, and the musical airwaves are infiltrated with the new sounds and blends called Hip-Hop! What happened to the Grand Master Flash and Cool Hercs in the bunch? Can it be possible that Hip-Hop has evolved to materialistic lyrics opposed to sign of the times? Is it possible that "rap" as we knew it can be restored or revised? I personally love all music, what I want to know is your views on the rap game!     4realpoetess Antoinette Denise Johnson was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois in 1964 by two loving parents, along with one older sister. She is a God gifted poet. Never having any formal training in poetic verse, prose, or literary arts, writing was simply something that she did every day in her diary, since age eight. Having made many mistakes in her life,she learned many lessons, but one of the most precious lessons she has learned is that she never deserved to be victimized, and no one does! Because Antoinette had been a victim for so long, in her mind, she began to believe it, and that is what she attracted more of in her life. In 2003, she began her recovery, and I grew tired of feeling like a victim! She became more engrossed in her life's passion of poetry.
