Special guest: Yukon photographer Cathie Archbould

Cathie photographs the North with a passion that could only come from doing what you love, such as living large in one of Canada’s last frontiers. Departing big-city life, Cathie left her work freelancing with the Globe and Mail, National Post and Toronto Star, to become the most prolific photographer north of 60 degrees latitude.

Cathie’s work is a study in extremes: one week she’s driving 5 hrs into a mine to photograph a reclamation project, the next she’s setting up a wall tent on the Dempster Highway, her Blue Heeler warding off animals throughout the night, hiking into a communications tower shoot the next morning, and the third week she’s back in Whitehorse, photographing a quit smoking campaign for the territorial government.

Cathie joins us on My Yukon Life to share her photographic passions with us, and explains what it is about the Yukon that makes it so special to her.
