Join Deacon Kristina Rake, M.A., of the Old Catholic Church, for our new weekly series on the Bible, The Bible and Breakfast. For our first book of the Bible, we will study one of the most controversial, misunderstood, and misinterpreted books of the New Testament: The Book of Revelation (also called the Apocalypse of John). This book has been used (or, rather, MISused) to predict the end of the world since the Protestant Reformation. While it does contain elements describing events at the end of time, not every passage is about the End of the World. In fact, much of the book contains texts from the ancient liturgy, hymns, even references to the politics of the day.

The key to understanding Revelation (not Revelations) is to learn about its language and symbolism from someone who has actually studied the book apart from an apocalyptic tradition (ie a faith that is focused on the End Times). Award-winning preacher, lecturer, and author, Deacon Kristina Rake, has studied this book for two decades and has written extensively on its meaning and interpretation.

Would you like to hear about the fall of Lucifer? St. Michael and the angels? Ten headed dragons and a time when God will wipe every tear away from our eyes because the pain is over? Want to know what heaven is like? Hell? Where so much of our Western art, music, and literature comes from?

Then join Deacon Rake for this new weekly series.
