Join Kristina Rake, M.A., for our weekly lay-worship and prayer. This is a prayer service run by a layperson that includes prayer, hymns, the Sunday readings, intercessions, and guided meditation. It begins with Beginner's Bible: Cracking open the Word. Kristina, a theologian and scripture scholar, will begin a study on the Gospel of Luke, explaining the meaning of the Gospel verse by verse so that you can understand what the Lord has commanded us to do.

Then, we begin with our service. This week's lay-homily is: Fair or Foul? When God's Love Seems Unfair. The Bible tells us that God will forgive people whom we may not believe deserve forgiveness. When you get to heaven, do you know if Hitler will be there? Or Stalin? Or John Wayne Gacey? Will you bump into someone whom you would never have allowed in?

Perhaps. And that makes us angry. But why?

Kristina will explore the ways in which our own flawed human love is used to judge God's perfect love and, more importantly, why it is we think that way. If you've ever wondered how God can be "good" and still allow human evil-doers into heaven, then you'll want to join us tonight.

We'll end with a guided mediation in which we encounter the Risen Christ in our hearts.
