St. Thomas Aquinas, the greatest theologian who ever lived, wrote that the Eucharist is "the source and summit of the Christian faith."

Without the Eucharist, Christianity doesn't really make sense. If Communion isn't the real, true presence of Christ, really truly His Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity, then we can't be saved. Jesus said that whoever ate his flesh and drank his blood had life, and He would raise him up on the last day. Paul said that taking the Eucharist without believing it IS the Body and Blood of Christ DIED because they were guilty of the MURDER of CHRIST!

The Eucharist is not a mere symbol. It is a doctrine so tied to Jewish belief in the Messiah that Paul understood it immediately. He saw why it had to be. And the Christian church taught the Body and Blood being truly present right from the beginning.

Join us as Bishop Kristina Rake of the CUC explains this key doctrine of Christianity and belief held dearly by the CUC.
