For all the Saints, who from their labors rest.

Today, we celebrate the reason there is a Halloween. It is the day we honor Christian martyrs far and wide, now and long ago. We honor the heroes of faith and virtue, not because they got it right, but because they got it wrong the right way. We honor all of those in heaven who pray for us with all of their might and, without whose constant prayers, we would be in much worse shape than we are now.

In tonight's service, Bishop Rake discusses first the reason we venerate the Saints and why to do so does not detract from the work of Jesus. In fact, it helps our relationship with God in many ways.

Also, we will hear the amazing Sermon on the Mount, one of the most radical theological statements of its kind.  In it, Jesus lays out principals that are required for peace. But we don't have peace because the world is strangled with spiritual arrogance.  In this very timely sermon and apologetic, award-winning preacher, theologian, and lecturer, the Rev. Bishop Kristina Rake, will talk about the attitude of spiritual self-righteousness, whether found in conservative Christians or atheists. Bishop talks about why it is that intellectual and spiritual arrogance has taken hold of the world, where it comes from, and how to answer it, in yourself and others.  You will NOT want to miss this episode as it is vital in today’s day and age to deal with the polarization of ALL discourse.

Come, for now is the time for worship!
