Ronnie Boykin Junior is a graphic designer, painter, illustrator and upcoming photographer from Chicago, IL. His art is inspired by Black folk and their environment and refers to his work as his visual journal. Ronnie graduated from Columbia College of Chicago, June 1996 where he earned his BFA (Bachelors in Fine Arts) studying art & film. He has worked for Gallery 37, a program designed to teach art to young urban teens, as a student artist (Summers 1991-1993) and as a Teaching Assistant for the Gallery 37 After School program via StreetLevel Youth Media at Westinghouse H.S., Chicago (Fall 1998).

Currently, he is working on his upcoming photo series, The Chain of Perception in Black America which focuses on how Black Americans perceive one another within their own race. Powerful imagery of Black Americans wrapped in chains displaying various emotional facial and body gestures combined with perceptions he gathered from various social media sites.
