Discussion RELOADED - What's Your Opinion on the Current State of Hip Hop? - June 22, 2010

The first attempt to do this show was canceled early because of technical issues so we're revisiting this topic. I often hear that the current state of hip hop/rap is not like it used to be and that today's artists have took the art of hip hop/rap in another direction that dilutes the industry and the culture. On the other side of the coin, I've heard people say that they are happy with it's current state and feel that people are hating on today's artists who are currently on top but may not be considered "true rappers" to the masses. I'm very interested in hearing YOUR OPINION on the topic. What do you think the current state of hip hop/rap music is in and what would you personally like for a new up & coming artist to bring to the game that's currently missing?
