It is a devastating traumatic event...childhood rape and incest. It can be further debilitating when our girls are RE-victimized by society and their families. We are going to talk about how to deal with this problem and what can be done to assist in their healing. Dr. Margaret Jamal, author of "When Girls Don't Tell" a book that centers around her own experiences with revictimization from child rape beginning with her step father. It describes subsequent assaults by different perpetrators. Some stats express that as much as 25% of child rape victims experience revictimization similar to what she experienced. In her years of addressing this, she realized that an underlying challenge for those experiencing this type of revictimization is a paralyzing fear of disclosure. We will also have guest Debbie Harris, a State Board Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas, as well as a Certified Christian Counselor. She is also the founder and CEO of Counselor911.com. Join us as we start this very important discussion.
