INTRODUCTION:  The Book Of Actsprovides the basic history of the spread of Christianity during the.  This second part three decades immediately following the death of Jesus Christ.  Whereas there are four Gospels of the Life of Christ, there is only One book in the New Testament that traces the expansion of the early Church,  Acts has been identified as the povital book of the New Testament.

The Book of acts is part two of a two-volume work addressed to Theophilus.  The first volume work addressed to Theophilus.  The first volume, the book of Luke, informed this reader about the life and work of Christ. This second part concerns itself with the ministry of the Followers of  Christ, The Purpose of the Aurthor was to offer a coordinated account of Christian origins  indicating how God had revealed Himself in the work and person of Jesus Christ and through the Church.

ACTS 1:1-26    In the former account [ which I prepared ], O Theophilus, I made [ A cntinous report ] dealing with all the things which Jesus began to do and to teach [ Luke 1:1-4 ]

vs.  2.  Until the day when He ascended, after He through the Holy Spirit had instructed and commanded the apostles ( special messengers)  whom He had chosen.

vs.  3.  To them He showed Himself alive after His passion ( His suffering in the Garden and on the cross ) by many convincing demonstrations [ unquestionable evidences, and infallible proofs], appearing to them during  forty days and talking [to them] about the things of the Kingdom of God. Vs. 4.  and while being in their company and eating with them, He commanded them not to leave Jerusalem but to wait for what the Father had promised.  Of which [ He said ]  you have heard He  Me  speak.  [ John 14:16, 26; 15:26 ]
