Janice Harrington, Cleveland, OH, Jazz/Blues/Gospel singer, producer, actress, in Lüneburg, Germany, with husband, trombone player, piano-builder Werner Guertler. USO tours 1969 Southeast Asia for troops in Vietnam. 1975-77, Flamingo Hotel, Las Vegas, NV. Acted in Norman Is That You? and Two Gentlemen From Verona and Days Of Our Lives. Worked with Frank Sinatra Jr., Sammy Davis Jr. and Lionel Hampton. Europe in 1980. In 1982, opened for Joan Armatrading in Oslo, sang for Bishop Desmond Tutu, Nobel Peace Prize. Performed with Kenn Lending Blues Band, in Copenhagen, Rockin Dopsie, Buddy Guy, Champion Jack Dupree and Luther Allison. Toured Switzerland with Big Jay McNeely 1993. Performed with Nat Adderley, Papa Blue’s Royal Viking Jazzband, Humphrey Lyttleton Band, Dutch Swing College Band, Danish Radio Big Band, Oslo Radio Big Band, German NDR Radio Big Band and Ljubljana Radio Big Band. Wrote Streets Of Harlem (Oslo) and What My Eyes Have Seen (Hamburg). 1st Anniversary in Memory of 9/11 Victims, Black History Month 2003 in the country of Georgia. Produced First North German Gospel and Spiritual Festival 1995, with Gerhard Schröder, Prime Minister of Lower Saxony. Gospel workshops, Authentic American Music, and Learn English With Music for children in Germany. Directs non-profit workshops and master classes in schools. Bansko Jazz Festival and Cultural Envoy in Romania 2007. Black History Month in Israel and Thailand 2008. Bulgaria, Latvia, and Israel Black History Month 2009, U.S. State Dept, American Consulate in Jerusalem. Workshops, concerts in Palestine.
