LeNora Jaye was born in New York City, where she grew up listening to Gospel, Jazz, Bebop, Motown, Opera, Cabaret, and Broadway show tunes. As vocalist for the funk-rock band Rhythm Republik, she performed at B.B. King's, House of Blues, The Blue Note NYC, S.O.B's, Tramps, The Wetlands, CBGB's, and Ashford & Simpson's Sugar Bar. LeNora opened shows for Teena Marie, The Meters, Roger Troutman & Zapp and Roy Ayers. Her solo career found her sharing stages with hip hop, pop and soul groups like The Roots, Floetry, India.Arie, and Amel Larrieux. A session singer, she was featured at the St. Lucia Jazzfest with saxophonist Robert Zi Taylor, and on the 2011 KZCT OZCAT Radio 89.5 FM's CARNIVAL Freedom I-JAMS Jazz Cruise. In 2012, she was aboard the CELEBRITY Eclipse Cruise. Voted BEST NEW ARTIST 2011 by SoulTracks.com, her songs and voice are on TransPhatt Records compilation Imperial (Do You Wanna and A Silent Prayer) and UK's SoulUnsigned compilation The Contemporary Soul Songbook (Living For Today), Always Get Away was in Top 20 UK Soul Charts and Giving It Up was featured on the Universal Records UK Street Sounds, Vol. 1 compilation. She produced The Story, her solo debut album with magnificent results, featuring 15 original compositions and interludes with the help of Supa, Steve Wallace, Thierry DeJean, Armand Tulumello (Astral22), Angela Johnson, and Jonathan Lloyd and Douglas Glover of NewBlackMusic.net. The music, LeNora says, is The Story of “a young urban woman’s experience.” Her sophomore release Quantum Heart is a mixture of jazz, world & soul influences.
