Bickley Rivera was born in Hartford, CT on August 17, Bickley Rivera is a singer, composer, keyboardist and steel pan soloist performing since age 6 to audiences all over the East Coast and Southeast. With a well-known Opera singer grandmother, internationally-known conductor brother and brass-legend Uncle, Bickley was surrounded by musical influences from an early age while classically-trained on piano. She performs in a pop and tropical music bands as keyboardist and singer, she has transitioned to the Tenor Steel Pan (or Steel Drum) to develop a new-style of music called TropJazz. She has released 8 CDs under various musical groups, but all related to World and Caribbean influences. Most recently, she crossed over with her new TropJazz-style to release an album entitled “Chillin’ After Five” with Greg Minnick of Levelblu Records. The album combines the efforts of international-recording artists Praful, Ed Calle and other musicians in different areas of the world to present her music of nujazz, smooth jazz, ambient, chill and downtempo elements. Bickley’s music has been noted as “ground-breaking” and something “no other steelpan musician is doing” as well as “magnetic magic”. Her “Chillin’ After Five” album is airing and selling in over 50 countries worldwide. While her main performances on Steelpan cover island, reggae, calypso and soca music, she is currently developing her Nujazz group to begin touring for promotion of her latest Nujazz album release.
