Flautist Andrea Brachfeld graduate of The High School of Music and Art and Manhattan School of Music, recorded more than a dozen CD's with many artists, Africando, Noel Pointer, and Timbalaye and with Latin band Charanga '76, catapulted her into Salsa history and fame as the first female Received “Louis Armstrong Award for Outstanding Student” from Jazz Interactions. Studied with Hubert Laws, Jimmy Heath, and Mike Longo. Latin New York Music Award twice. Performed with Dave Valentin, Nestor Torres, and Ray Barretto. In Venezuela, opened for Chick Corea and Paco de Lucia. Chico O'Farrill Lifetime Achievement Award from Latin Jazz USA. CDs, Remembered Dreams, Back With Sweet Passion, Beyond Standards.
