Celebrating the music coming out of California...

The Strata-tones are; Vocals; Valerie Johnson, Guitar's and Vocals; Bruce Krupnik, Harmonica and Vocals; Kevin McCracken, Keyboards; Ken Burton, Fender Bass; Wil Anderson; Drums; Rick Pittman.

This is The Strata-tones. Down in the alley Rhythm & Blues. Take no prisoners. No one gets out without feeling the groove.

Their album, Dressed Up To Fess Up is chock full of wonderful music and powerhouse vocals.

I will sit with the band and discuss their history and where they are headed while we listen to cuts from the album.

Then Sue Palmer takes her seat on The Couch.

Sue came to us through Ms. Wendy DeWitt, who graced The Couch back in April.

Sue, like Wendy, is a serious Boogie-Woogie Piana player with a ton of chops.

She is the recipient of the 2010 San Diego Music Awards "Best Album" honors.

Having spent the 90's with Candye Kane, she has been making her mark in the last decade with her high energy band, the Motel Swing Orchestra, and her flashy boogie woogie stylings.

Wearing a couple of pounds of big cocktail rings on each hand, she wails through a very complete blues keyboard vocabulary like the veteran she is.

Sue will spend time and we will discuss her life and career while checking out tunes from the album After Hours.

PLUS - Being the first Monday of the month that means we will get our Blues411.com Report from Chefjimi Patricola.  A new feature, I am thrilled Chefjimi agreed to join Music On The Couch.
