The first of 3 shows leading up to our weeklong live broadcasts from Beale Street during the 2012 International Blues Challenge.

Sean Carney won the Band competition in 2007.

Music is in his blood (literally).  The Columbus, Ohio bluesman has it in his family genes, with jazz horn players in the previous two generations.

His 2007 and 2008 Blues For A Cure shows and CDs raised over $50,000 for the cause.

In 2009 his 2007 Canadian recording Live Blues On Whyte was released.  He has been performing worldwide in recent years.

We will speak with Sean regarding how winning the IBC impacted his life and where he is heading in 2012.

Then 2008 Band Challenge winners Trampled Under Foot take their seat on The Couch.

Siblings Danielle, Kris and Nick Schnebelen grew up with the Blues. Their parents, Bob and Lisa, were active in the thriving Kansas City Blues scene, playing in local bands and competing in the Kansas City Blues Challenge.

Their new CD, Wrong Side Of The Blues was produced by Tony Braunagel, and features guest appearances by Mike Finnigan, Kim Wilson, and engineer/guitarist Johnny Lee Schell. It also features one of their dad’s songs, and backup vocals by their mom.

How did winning the IBC impact their careers?  What have they been doing since then and where are they heading tomorrow are all subjects we will explore.
