Nikki English, Keith Robertson and Matt Williams have been  together since 2000 as the country band, Western Avenue. The band was nominated in 2013 for the Ontario Country Music Association and twice-nominated International Music and Entertainment Association Award. Western Avenue is a “hot country” sound, demonstrated by their catchy first single, “Highway Headin’ Out of Town,” picked up by Canadian country radio in 2012.    With the release of their new single, “Wherever You Are,” from their February 2013 self-titled debut EP, Western Avenue is taking their melody-driven blend of country and pop music to the US and around the globe.  Already #1 on the Roots Music Report Pop Country chart and #26 on New Music they are rocketing up in the US and Canada. Weekly,We are proud they are stopping by Music FridayLive! this week on the way.

Rory Partin had his first taste of the big time singing backing-up for five-time Grammy winner Larnelle Harris. After over three years touring internationally with Harris, Partin returned to the states and settled in Nashville, eventually leading Rory Partin & His All-Star Big Band. Now in Los Angeles, Partin has redefined himself as a solo artist, a powerhouse of blue-eyed soul, backed by an 18 piece  band. He is also a hot blues and cajun artist and can rock the house. But this week, he and his wife Alexa James (also known collectively as The ROAMies) bring their big band sound and signatrure harmonies to the Typhoon Club in LA, crooning "Georgia on My Mind" and other jazz and blues standards.  Best of all, they talk to us on Friday at 11:30 am PT.
