SPOTLIGHT GUEST: RED DOTT
In a world where twerking, smoking and being a gangster seems to be the norm what was the chance that a rapper who overcame the so called glamour and glitz of the music industry would speak out against what was wrong even if it cost him everything.
After being raised in a Christian home in the urban streets of Maryland, he decided to chase after money, women, and fame. Knowing his heart was about truth and helping build the community, one day Red Dott was on the computer and God had him to look at all the videos and songs he was doing and God asked the question, "How many people out of these thousands of views have you killed with your mouth?" After realizing the spiritual grave yards he was responsible for supporting, Red Dott decided that something new had to be done. He rededicated his life and now is on a mission for God. This is how it all started.................. Red-Dott is the stage name of Chris Dillard who hails from Pioneer City, Maryland, representing the DMV. He has had the unique opportunity to compete on some of the most popular shows of them all--“Amateur Night “at the world famous Apollo Theatre, 106 n Park On BET and TRL with Carson Daily for the 1000 MC battle (making it to the final round and finishing as the first runner up)--becoming the first, unsigned artist to simultaneously appear on two major networks (MTV Direct Effect with Lala and DJ Clue and BET Rap City), The Black College tour at Kings 'Dominion, leading to shows with Kanye West, Twista, Petey Pablo, and J Kwon. Critics have a lot of great things to say about True Nature. The Rock and Roll Report summarizes the positive feedback in one sentence, “If you like modern day rock, check this band out.” That Same Reviewer also awarded True Nature, best album of the year award in both ’09 and ’11. True Nature is a complex tapestry of known musicians, lyrics that merit a closer look, surreal album imagery, and much more. At the heart of all that is one man: Lou Barlow.

You don't need words to understand a feeling conveyed by a particular piece of music; all it takes is a killer beat to make stadiums of people with vastly different worldviews jump out of their chairs and dance it out. And everyone has a memory of how a particular song served as a soundtrack for a first kiss, a graduation or an unforgettable road trip. Every day, you'll discover how eclectic BlogTalkRadio's music offerings are, as music fans, makers, movers and shakers across the globe share their passion for any and every genre: Adult Contemporary, Dubstep, Hip Hop, R&B, Dance, Jazz, '80s, Classical, Big Band, Country, Children's, Folk, Indie, Oldies, New Age, World, Christian, Opera, Alternative, Broadway, Punk, Rock, Classic Rock, Gospel, Singer-Songwriter and much more.
