ON BALDWIN/McCULLOUGH RADIO: 1. The USA has made it to the top 16 in the World Cup. Yes the disasters of the world abound, and there are lots of things to be worried about, but Stephen wants to discuss the idea of how a President inspires the nation in celebrating our successes as well. Stephen believes it is part of the President’s job to inspire Americans to love their nation more and constantly draw them back to love for nation. What say you? Thoughts: 800.345.9622. 2. Did President Obama bank on this? One of General McChrystal’s real frustrations in his assignment in Afghanistan was the civilian chain of command’s desire to tighten the rules of engagement so as to not allow American military troops to be able to engage the enemy as easily. Now reports indicate General Petraeus may be taking more aggressive rule of engagement as a strategic move in one of his first acts. Thus essentially coming to the same conclusion McChrystal did but now with no recourse for the administration. Thoughts: 800.345.9622.
