His intimate portraits reveal landscapes with a spirit that reflects the richness of his diverse heritage. Born in 1964 to a Colombian mother and Hungarian father, Isztin lives in Ottawa, Canada. His recent work explores monolithic structures, inner life and outer world, the subtlety of a human gesture, and land and humankind’s influence on nature. Isztin has received various awards to support the creation of his projects, including grants from the Ontario Arts Council and the Canada Council for the Arts. His work has been exhibited internationally and featured in numerous photography books and magazines. In 2012, images from the series Nuance will be included in the Peter Hay Halpert Fine Art New York release of “Identities Now: Contemporary Portrait Photography.” Isztin’s work is included in the Canada Council Art Bank and the City of Ottawa’s Fine Art Collection.
