According to a JAMA study in 2001, 20% of 9th - 12th grade girls reported physical or sexual abuse by a dating partner. According to data from the 2007 Youth Risk Behavioral Surveillance System, 10% of 9th - 12th graders – both male and female – reported physical dating violence in the past year. 7% of US women and 2% of US men report stalking at some point in their lives. 25% of college women report stalking – 32% by a former boyfriend, 39% by someone interested in dating them.
