    MS Mommies- I'm still here!!

    Dear listeners of MS Mommies,

I know it's been a while since the last show, but life has gotten busy! With a 19 month-old, those of you with kids know how challenging things can be balencing your health (symptoms, medications, doctors appointments for yourself, baby and husband). There are so many things to keep you occupied...introducing baby to daycare, relationship with your husband or partner, relationships with family immediate or otherwise, but I'm hanging in there!

My father-in-law recently lost his brief battle with colon cancer. Then, a month later almost to the day, my mother was diagosed with colon cancer. Thank God her doctor caught it in time and the canserous polyp was removed. Sher is out of the hospital and resting at home. She is lucky to have her sisters (4) and her mother who all flew in form various locations on the eastcoast to look after her while she was in the hospiital and upon discharge. They all were great help with meals, cauffering everyone around and keepingmy mother and my two sisters company through a quite difficult and stressful time. I want to take a moment and thank them for their generousity, selflessness and patience.

For those of you who have not gotten a colonoscopy (men and women), please check with your doctor to see if your are at the right age to receive one.

Me on the other hand, well whose had time to think about me. I know I usually end the program by saying "take care of you" . I guess I should practice what I preach. I have been forgetful of my daily shots (I've missed one or two), I haven't really been watching my diet (although I'm quite thin, I can stand to gain a little weight). Now, I have to have a biopsy on a few swollen lymphnodes. None of my doctors (gynocologist urologist, neurologist, general doctor) can give me a clear explianation. I don't know if the lymphnodes are swollen because of Copaxone (that is one of the side effects), if it's from an infection, allergies are something else. I've learned to take the doctors advice, but I've also learned to be my own best advocate.

Thank you to those who have checked in with me. I'm still plugging along. Stick with me and you'll lear some exciting new interviews!!

    Love you lots,

    Tahirah
