My people we must continue to stand as one. For as you all know it is together that we are most powerful. It was together that our people fought, went to jail, and even died for our sake. So it is now more than ever that we must stand taller than ever, and keep the fight that they started alive in 2008 !!!!!!!!!!!

    After Thoughts~Dunbar Bar Village

    Some After Thoughts

I should be on the way to bed.  After participating in the discussion on African American Political Pundit's show, Political Slugfest tonight, I have some thoughts to share.

We discussed the situation in Dunbar Village tonight.  If you are not aware of the brutal attack on a woman and her son by a group of teen aged males~please take time to visit What About Our Daughters?
     http://whataboutourdaughters.blogspot.com/

There is information posted on WOAD that will provide you with all the details.  If you can support the efforts that are already underway~please do so.

A crime was committed in Dunbar Village.  We need to remember that the victims are the ones who need our energy and efforts.

    The Phenomenal Woman/Sheila J. Williams

About a week ago, I joined an online group, The Phenomenal Woman~Midwest.  I discovered this group while searching around in Yahoo.  I liked what posted and decided to join.

Membership has its priviledges!  I learned that a friend from my hometown was going to be one of the featured guest on blogradio.  I really wanted to listen to the broadcast.

Sheila J. Williams writes stories that any woman or man can relate to.  Her current book is titled, Girls Most Likely. It is a story about four friends who have a lasting relationship well into their adult years.

I have read this particular book and highly recommend it.  It is a well crafted piece of written work.

Sheila has also authored three other books, Dancing On The Edge Of The Roof, The Shade Of My Own Tree and On The Right Side Of A Dream.

It was a comfy and informative hour.  Sheila shared information about her work, answered questions and gave advice that authors can utilize.

I had a great time re~connecting with a hometown friend for a moment.  I also had a good time listening to the other callers share information and their personal insight.

If you have not read Sheila J. Williams~you should make it your business to purchase copies of her books.  Curl up in your favorite reading space and enjoy a good story!

    Black Women's Round Table 01/03/08

I spent the evening listening to the broadcast sponsored by Black Women's Roundtable.

The discussion centered around two subjects:  Dunbar Village and the Iowa Caucuses.

I tuned in during the discussion about Dunbar Village.  There is still plenty of work to be done to correct the conditions in that community.  It is going to take more than just the residents to get things straightened out.
I learned a lot this evening about what has been going on and what type of support has come forth for the residents.

If you are not aware of the vile attack that took place in Dunbar Village, you should take time to read the blog What About Our Daughters? There is ample information on what happened there, as well as updates.

The political discussion was thought provoking.  An interesting mix of observations and concerns were stated. I like the idea of having a unified black woman's agenda to present to politicans.  How they would respond to that action would be interesting to see.

I had a good time listening and participating in the chat.

    Greetings!

    Greetings!
Peace to all who have taken the time to check out my profile page!
I discovered BTR on 12/28/07.  I will be the first to admit that it was a pleasant surprise!

For the next month I will be checking out different programs and meeting new friends.  Once I have learned my way around and feel comfortable, I will consider what course will be best for me.  I may host a program or I may just continue to be a listener.

I am a mature woman of color who resides in Ohio.  I am politically active in my hometown. I also produce a blog titled From My Brown Eyed View.

Please leave me a hello message so I can check your program out.  I will take time to listen to what you have produced.

    Have an interesting day!
