Ms Taylor P Collins
United States, English
Artist Bio Ms. Taylor P. Collins, the oldest of five children and award winning vocalist, was born in Norfolk, Va on Friday the Thirteenth in the middle of one of the worst blizzards Norfolk had ever seen. When Taylor was older her mother told her that she knew there was something very special about Taylor then, but little did she know that her daughter would emerge as one of the leading female vocalists in the San Francisco Bay Area in the world of Blues. Taylor sang Rock for a number of years before finding her niche in the Blues. Her mother Mrs. Ethel Garner, an accomplished Gospel pianist and vocalist, and her uncle George Hicks were very instrumental in Taylor's musical upbringing and helped shape the sound that is uniquely Taylor today. Taylor's style of Blues is sophisticated, powerful, and funky with jazz overtones presented as only Taylor can with her commanding stage presence, flash and glitz and her riveting 8pc band which currently boasts six women and two men with a 4pc all female horn section called The First Ladies of Horn and they represent the best of the best in the SF Bay Area. She has performed at the Monterey Bay Blues Festival, San Jose International Jazz Festival, San Jose America Festival, Sacramento Heritage Festival, Fountain Blues Festival, The Vallejo Jazz Festival, Fountain Blues Festival, and the AT&T Golf Tournament in Carmel Valley to name a few. Taylor has performed in the company of industry legends such as Etta James, The Neville Brothers, Barbara Morrison, Albert Collins, James Cotton, Gladys Knight, and Kenny Neal. She has also performed with her dear friend and mentor the legendary Ruth Brown and has opened for and performed with John Handy, LaVerne Baker, and Jefferson Starship. Taylor has just completed work on her new music video "Wish I Knew" which will be available for download soon!! The video is also going to be featured in Ms Collins' first indie feature film entitled "Nectar" which is
