AS SALAAMUALAIKI WA RAHMATULLAHI WA BARRAKATUHU The Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) would often starts his Kutbas with the following; 'The Sermon of Need' Al-hamdu lilah. Indeed all praise is due to Allaah. We praise Him and seek His help and forgiveness. We seek refuge with Allaah from our souls evil and evil of our wrong actions. He whom Allaah guides, no one can misguide and he whom He misguides, no one can guide I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped except Allah – alone without a partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His ‘abd (slave) and final messenger. “O you who believe! Revere Allaah the right reverence, and do not die except a Muslim as Muslims.” 1. “O people! Revere your Lord who has created you from a single soul, created from it its mate, and dispersed from both of them many men and women. Revere Allaah through whom you demand things from one another, and (cherish the ties of) the wombs. Indeed, Allaah is ever-watchful over you.” 2. “O, you who believe! Revere Allaah and say just words. He will then rectify your deeds and forgive your sins. He who obeys Allah and his messenger has certainly achieved a great victory.” 3. 4. Indeed the best of speech is Allah’s Book and the best of Guidance is Muhammad’s (PBUH) guidance. The worst of affairs (of the religion) are those innovated (by the people), for every innovation is an act of misguidance leading to the hell fire. 1. Al Imran – 3:102 2. Al Nisa – 4:1 3. Al Ahzab 33:70/71 4. the above paragraph are called Khutba-ul-Hajha, the sermon of need with which the Prophet (PBUH) often started his speeches. This is recorded by Muslim, Abu Dawood, etc., from Ibn Masud, Ibn Abbas, and other companions (may Allah be pleased with them all). The Prophet also said the very last paragraph when starting a speech. This is recored by Muslim, An-Nasai, etc. From Jabir (Al Mishkat no. 137). MAY ALLAH KEEP US ALL ON WHAT IS TRUE AND CORRECT, AMEEN WOMEN ARE THE BACKBONE TO SOCIETY.
