Bo Diddley talks up the ‘Bo Beat’ on Mr. Media’s Lost Tapes (1985)

I found this 54-minute interview with Bo Diddley from April 20, 1985 by accident after digging up the print version of the interview.

"I'm the dude that Elvis Presley copied. He copied me and combined Jackie Wilson," Diddley told me.

That was a memorable day for two reasons: spending an hour with Bo in Ybor City, Florida, the afternoon of his show, of course, but also my memories of the photographer I worked with that day, Tom Howland, who was a long-time friend and who passed away suddenly a few years ago.

Anyway, this interview is one of my all-time favorites. I hope you’ll enjoy this Mr. Media “Lost Tape.”
