‘Dateline NBC’s’ Chris Hansen returns with message for Mr. Media: ‘You Might Be Rich’

The two-hour "Dateline" continues with correspondent Chris Hansen investigating lottery scams. Every year millions of people in the U.S. buy more than $60 billion worth of lottery tickets. "Dateline" followed undercover investigators into lotto retail stores to discover that in some cases the people redeeming winning lottery tickets aren't always the actual winner. Hansen worked with the Security Enforcement Division of the California Lottery, a unique investigative operation, to test compliance of the state's lottery retailers.

In September 2004, Hansen began his breakthrough investigative reporting on online sexual predators.
