Ritch Yarber is president of TwistedSpine.com Films, a micro-budget film “group” based in Cleveland, Ohio. Since its inception in 2000, TwistedSpine.com Films has produced 5 feature films, a short film and a pair of sitcom pilots, all on budgets that a local Cleveland reporter once described as “enough to buy a good used car”. Ritch is the writer/director of most of the group’s productions and works hard to ensure that each film lives up to the promise posted on the TwistedSpine.com website of “Your premiere micro-budget experience!”
The idea behind the creation of TwistedSpine.com Films is to create quality micro-budget entertainment through a collaborative effort of talented individuals seeking to gain career opportunities in the field of filmmaking. Ritch has defined these projects as being “feature-length resumes” as each film gives various artists the chance to showcase themselves through their contributions to the completed production. TwistedSpine.com’s most recent films, The Deep Dark Woods: No Witnesses and Murder Machine! have been official selections at many film festivals and have garnished several awards. Ritch attributes this success to the depth of talent in the Cleveland area waiting to be discovered and their direct contributions to the completed works.
Ritch, and TwistedSpine.com Films, has twice presented The TwistedSpine.com Micro Film Festival, a unique event designed to provide screening opportunities for films made for $10,000 or less. Audiences were invited to view the official selections free of charge and awards were distributed at the conclusion of the festivities. TwistedSpine.com
