Niketa Calame was born and raised in Los Angeles, California.  She received her BA degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz and her Masters of Fine Arts from The Actors Studio Drama School, New School University.   She studied overseas at University of Exeter in England,Uk for a year through the junior year abroad program.

Niketa caught the acting bug at an early age her biggest role to date was as the voice of Young Nala in Disney’s 32nd Animated Feature Film “The Lion King”.  Recently re- released in theaters in 3d and blue ray dvd.  She was also Chris Rocks little sister Albertina in hip hop satire “CB4” these films allowing her to get her Screen Actors Guild card in 1994 she has been a proud member ever since.  Theater is her heart and credits include: “Women of Brewster Place” the musical in the role of Tee and Kiswanna Brown winner of the OVATION AWARD for best musical production intimate theater and NAACP theater award for choreography and direction; “Junk: A Rock Opera” originating the role of Martina which had a backers presentation at Urban Stages in New York; “Defacing Michael Jackson” originating the role of Frenchy Marshallwhich won the Samuel French Short Play Festival in New York.

Niketa is a project ambassador for the American Diabetes Association and recently recorded lead vocals the campaign song “Promise To Remember Me” a song for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation; recently shown at the Diabetes Walk in front of millions of people at Dodger Stadium.
