The Tribute to the Troops: Race for the Wounded Warriors was originated by Hesler Motorsports in July 2011 as an exhibition event between the drivers at I-37 Raceway/Newsome Motor Park, with the proceeds, as well as individual donations, going to the Wounded Warrior Project and Center for the Intrepid Fund.  Also known as "Warrior Fest" and held on Fourth of July weekend, Hesler Motorsports wanted the opportunity to give back to the Military community by providing a day of racing entertainment, food and fun to celebrate all veterans, active duty, and their friends and family.

Andrew Hesler, lead driver of the 1x Hesler Motorsports Limited Late Model, is a 14 year Veteran of the United States Army.  He was medically released in 2009 due to an injury caused by an improvised explosive device, or IED.  His love for motor sports and the Military, combined with the discipline he learned in the Army, is what motivates him on, and off, the track.  His accomplishments in both fields include the prestigious Soldiers Medal, which he received for saving the life of a drowning individual, and a 1st place trophy and 2009 Rookie Driver of the Year at I-37 Raceway.

Brandon Hadden from Vidialia,Ga will be making the trip over to Texas to participate in this event.Brandon is one of the youngstrers running in the superstreet class around the Central Ga dirt tracks. He joins us as we get ready to learn about his adventure to Texas and what it means to him to be able to participate in this event.
