    “THE CONSCIOUSNESS GENERATION” with guest Rev. James Golden

    Dr. James Golden has a Bachelor of Science degree in Religious Studies from Oregon State University and has been a Religious Science minister for over twenty years. In July of 1997 Dr. Golden was elected President of Religious Science International and he served in that position for two years. In 1999 he was awarded a Doctorate of Divinity by Religious Science International and in 2000 he was awarded the first presentation of its most prestigious honor, the Ernest Holmes legacy award. James also served as a chaplain for the Redding Police Department and Redding Medical Center for many years. James’s spiritual studies have included spending time with such teachers as Swami Chidvilasananda, Thich Nhat Han and as personal student of Don Miguel Ruiz. For the last several years, James has been following his Dream of offering retreats, seminars & workshops, as well as being a personal mentor for dedicated spiritual students worldwide. His more recent creative activities include becoming a Shasta County volunteer fire fighter as well as an EMT & working on a 911 ambulance in the Redding area. Most recently he has joined the Medical Reserve Corp in the Northern California area.     Maureen was recently selected as the new Spiritual Director of the Center for Spiritual Living, Westlake Village. Prior to that, she was pastor of the Granada Hills Center for Spiritual Living for 14 ½ years. Before taking on the Granada Hills Church, she worked as staff minister with Dr. Dennis Merritt Jones in Simi Valley, California. She is currently on the curriculum committee on the Dept. of Education for International Centers for Spiritual Living, Chair of the Ministerial Intensive, and a member of the Peace Committee. She is representative for ICSL on the planning committee for the United Centers for Spiritual Living summer conference at Asilomar in July 2010 on the Monterey Peninsula. Maureen is currently president of INTA-Los Angeles, A Gathering of Ministers, and liaison to the Board of Directors for Creative Thought Magazine. She is currently working on her first book, which will be ready for publication by April 2010.

She was the Founding Minister of the First Church of Religious Science, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada in 1995. Upon leaving Canada in 1996, Rubin became Minister of the then Westlake Church of Religious Science, now the Westlake CSL She left there in May, 2009 in order to offer teaching, guest speaking, workshops and mentoring to the broader New Thought/Science of Mind Community.

Dr. Jim is also a spiritual leader and has served congregations in Baltimore, Fort Lauderdale, Westlake Village, and Simi Valley.
