The Cornerstone Credit Union League recently conducted a survey of consumers in Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas. That survey revealed that while 79 percent of survey respondents felt it very important to have a household budget, only 5 percent said they always stick to that budget. Sixty-seven percent of our survey respondents said unexpected expenses were the greatest challenge in sticking to a household budget. Twenty-two percent admitted poor planning was their greatest challenge.
On today’s episode of Your Money, Your Matters, we’ll talk about the importance of having a budget, or spending plan. We’ll also share ideas on how you can develop better savings habits that will help you better manage unexpected expenses.
