Technology has made everyday activities like comparison shopping, banking, researching, etc. so much more convenient. Unfortunately, it has also made us more vulnerable to frauds and scams. From phishing and vishing, to telemarketing fraud and secret shopper scams, criminals are becoming more and more sophisticated at defrauding unsuspecting consumers.

According to a TransUnion report, every minute about 19 people fall victim to identity theft. And it reportedly takes the average victim an estimated $500 and 30 hours to resolve each identity theft crime.

On today’s episode of Your Money, Your Matters, well talk about some of the many scams consumers are falling victim to, and we’ll share what steps consumers can take to protect themselves.

Broadcasting every Tuesday from 11 a.m. to noon CDT, Your Money, Your Matters features radio personalities Linda Webb-Manon and Rick Grady, Cornerstone Credit Union League; Courtney Moran, Cornerstone Credit Union Foundation, and Todd Mark, Consumer Credit Counseling Services. Each month, the four will discuss financial issues of most importance to consumers.
