The definition of Independent (adjective /?ind?'pend?nt/) is free from outside control; not depending on another for livelihood or subsistence. Tomorrow we will celebrate our nation's Independence Day. It is a prideful day for Americans because it marks the day our nation achieved its independence – free from outside control. As we celebrate this significant day, perhaps we should also take this opportunity to take inventory of our personal lives. More specifically, our financial situations.
On today’s episode, Your Money. Your Matters will engage in a frank discussion what it takes to achieve financial independence. We’ll talk about the importance of saving, managing credit, responsible spending, sticking to the family budget, planning for the unexpected and taking responsibility for the financial decisions you make.
TCUL’s Your Money. Your Matters is a weekly show broadcasting every Tuesday from 11 a.m. to noon Central Time. The program features radio personalities Linda Webb-Mañon and Rick Grady, Texas Credit Union League; Todd Mark, Consumer Credit Counseling Services, and Courtney Moran, Texas Credit Union Foundation. Each month, the four discuss financial issues of most importance to consumers.
