Here are some of the ideas we discussed on today's show for entertaining your kids and teens this summer! This was such a fun show and my two special guests provided plenty of entertainment and laughs!
Summer Fun Ideas
1) Summer Camps – overnight and day camps
2) Various businesses that hold special activities (story time at bookstores/libraries, summer reading programs at libraries, mini-camps, YMCA, museums, fine arts institute, vo-techs, Young Chefs Academy, local parks and recreation department activities and camps)
3) Swimming
4) Sports – both participating in and watching
5) Vacation Bible School
6) Volunteer – give examples
7) Park Passes to water parks/amusement parks
8) Zoo (large city zoos and small privately owned ones), exotic animal zoos
9) Start a business: Lemonade stands, mowing lawns, babysitting, mother’s helper, dog walking, pet sitting for families on vacation, make crafts/cards/jewelry
10) Cook-outs
11) Camping/ Outdoor activities (hiking, rock climbing, exploring caves, or even exploring nearby creeks, etc.)
12) Vacations – national parks, Disney, etc.
13) Sleep-overs (could camp out in backyard, or have a theme party)
14) Movie theaters – summer movie specials
15) Educational programs and services (Kumon, Sylvan, etc, or just for fun)
16) Children’s theatre camp and/or watching theatre performances
17) Family fun businesses: Gymboree, Pump it Up, Incredible Pizza Company, Chuck E. Cheese, Celebration Station, etc.
