We have fewer than 50 days until the election, and while it is premature to write off Mitt Romney (not with all that superPAC power!), the man seems determined to choke himself on that silver spoon he was born with.

Romney began the week with yet another campaign reboot, hoping to distract reporters from asking questions about POLITICO's expose of disarray and disfunction within the campaign, including the kind of quotes that don't usually come out until AFTER a candidate has lost his election. He finished Monday with a hastily arranged press conference to respond to David Corn's bombshell release of a video secretly recorded at a $50,000 a plate campaign function.

The mission for Democrats is to keep the pressure on... and shift some energy and focus to downticket races. Polls this week show both Elizabeth Warren and Tammy Duckworth ahead. Cynematic and Donna Schwartz Mills discuss.

Also this week: the Chicago teachers strike is settled. What the issues are and how it relates to what is happening nationwide in the debate over public education.
