A special K-12 News Network show with students in the California public school system who explain why the current version of the Weighted Pupil Funding will help them get the equitable and high quality education they need and which is guaranteed them in California's state Constitution.

We discuss two versions of Governor Brown's Weighted Student Funding (WSF), and Assemblymember Julia Brownliey's AB18, a bill partially passed by the legislature. All address similar issues in equitably and simply funding pupils in California. Finally, we highlight actions everyone in CA can take to ensure that what funding we currently have is equitably spent on students, while at the same time moving forward to increase overall revenue that goes to the state's schools.

Guests include Jesus Almaraz, students leader with Californians for Justice, and recent graduate of Cabrillo High School in Long Beach; Rey Llaban, student leader with Californians for Justice, incoming senior fall 2012 at James Lick High School in San Jose; and Fermin Vasquez, Communications Coordinator, Californians for Justice.
